More misery for Roberto Mancini and Manchester City as they lost 4-2 at home in extra time to Aston Villa tonight and they are out of the Capital One Cup.
A Gareth Barry own goal and Gabriel Agbonlahor strike had pegged City back after Mario Balotelli and Aleksandar Kolarov goals had given them the lead.
Charles N’Zogbia and Agbonlahor again sealed the win in extra time and Roberto Mancini must be wondering what has happened to his defence as they conceded another four goals tonight.
Everton have had a great start to their Premier League campaign, but they came unstuck at Elland Road tonight as they lost 2-1 to Leeds United. And second half goals from Oriol Romeu, Fernando Torres and Victor Moses completed the rout.
Swansea staged a late comeback to win 3-2 and break Crawley hearts. Trailing 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining Danny Graham and Garry Monk scored to as the Premier League side edged out their League One opponents.
Southampton’s record signing Jay Rodgriguez scored a goal in both halves as Southampton won their second game of the season 2-0 against Sheffield Wednesday.
Elsewhere ten-man Sunderland beat a game Mk Dons side 2-0 thanks to second half goals from Craig Gardner and James Mcclean while in the other games Middlesbrough won 3-1 at Preston, Swindon beat Burnley 3-1 and Bradford came from 2-0 down to edge Burton out 3-2 after extra-time.
