The Golden State Warriors are currently 4-1 this preseason. They will be facing the Trail Blazers in Portland tonight and then have 2 games remaining before their season opener on October 31st. So far the Warriors have been playing great. With Stephen Curry medically cleared for the season, David Lee scoring 17.3 PPG, and the rookies playing hard, they have been able to pull 3 wins out of 4 games. Sure it’s preseason, but if this is a glimpse of what’s to come in the regular season, Warrior fans should be excited.
In their preseason opener against the Lakers, the Warriors had a 35-0 run late in the 3rd and won 110-83 in Fresno. In their recent game against the Kings in Sacramento, they won 98-88. Not only are they winning most games, but they are winning them on the road. If they will continue this streak over in the regular season, maybe just maybe, the bay area will see their team in the playoffs in the 2012-13 season. But before we look ahead, lets take a quick look back at some highlights of the 2012 offseason:
- This year Golden State had the No.7th pick in the draft and picked forward Harrison Barnes from North Carolina. Barnes is 6’8’’ and 210 lbs. He is currently averaging 10.4 PPG in preseason.
- The Warriors were undefeated in 2012 Summer League.
- Golden State Warriors re-signed free agent Brandon Rush. Rush is 6’6’’ and 210 lbs. In the 2011-12 season with the Warriors he averaged 9.8PPG and 3.9RPG.
- The Warriors signed Carl Landry, Carlon Brown, Rick Jackson, Terence Kinsey, and Lance Goulbourne.
The final day to make sign-and-trade is October 29th.
Everything seems to look good on paper, but only in time will we see how the season will pan out. Golden State fans can just hope that the players will be healthy (holding their breath every time they see Curry move on the court in fear of that ankle), that their finally big center, Andrew Bogut, will be able to play, and that the Warriors will keep fighting to secure a spot in the 2012-2013 playoffs. Golden State’s opening night is in 12 days against the Suns at Phoenix. Their home opener is November 2nd against the Grizzlies.

Great article. Looking forward to the Warriors having an amazing season!
