Lucio Wants To Leave Juventus In December

Former Inter defender Lucio shocked everyone in the summer when he left Inter and signed with Inter’s bitter rivals Juventus. But Lucio has found out that the grass it not always greener someone else as he gets set to move again in January.

“I’m considering my future,” Lucio said in an interview for German daily newspaper, “I’m unhappy at Juventus because I’m getting very few games.”

The center-half has just made four appearances this season for Juve for a total of 310 minutes of playing time. His last appearance was back on 7 November 2012, when he played the last 20 minutes against Nordsjaelland.

Lucio said he ased Juventus manager Antonio Conte for an explanation of why he wasn’t picked against Pescara, but nothing came of it. The reason might be that Lucio has been poor since signing with Inter, looking even slower than he did when he played for Inter.

But Lucio feels that he is good enough to start and so he is looking to go back to Germany where he played from 2001 to 2009 for Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.

“Football is a fast-moving game. Now I’m in Turin, but I could be playing for another club in January. I want to play football and be happy again. Germany is a well-organised country and German football is really interesting with a thrilling championship. Wolfsburg? They have a great future ahead of them. It’s a well-run club and there could be a concrete future there for me.” Playing in the Bundesliga was an experience he’ll never forget, but he never really settled in at Juve. He moved there during the summer from Milan, on a free transfer from Inter and signed a two-year contract worth €2.5 million per season plus prize money. “If I had the opportunity to return there, why not? I had eight fantastic years there. My family and I were happy there. At home when I mentioned that we might be moving back, my kids began celebrating immediately.”
