Harry Says No Panic Buying In January For QPR

harry1Harry Redknapp insists that Queens Park Rangers will not engage in panic buying in January in a bid to lift themselves off the foot of the Premier League table.

QPR are six points from safety, and with a tough run of games coming up against Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham and Man City, and Redknapp admits he needs new additions in the window.

“I’ve got to sign people in the right positions who can help us. If we can’t do that, we may as well sit tight and see what happens,” Redknapp said.

“If we can get one or two in, we’ll give ourselves a chance. That’s what I’m looking at.”

Under former boss Mark Hughes, Rangers were the busiest team in the summer transfer market bringing in 11 players; Junior Hoilett, Park Ji-Sung, Robert Green, Samba Diakite, Ryan Nelsen, Andrew Johnson, Fabio, Jose Bosingwa, Esteban Granero, Sam Magri and Stephane Mbia.

Almost all of them have been major disappointments, and Jose Bosingwa was recently fined two weeks wages for refusing to sit on the bench against Fulham on 15 December.

While Redknapp will not “panic buy” I expect a lot of moves at QPR in January. Bosingwa for one will almost certainly leave, and the future of the Andrew Johnson has to be in doubt also, with QPR linked with former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
