The rebuilding process for the Cleveland Browns has begun again under the newest regime to be in charge of the team. On the same day the club announced Brian Hoyer was replacing Branden Weeden as the teams 19th starting quarterback since returning, later in the day the Browns traded the Alabama running back to Indianapolis just two games into the season and one year after drafting him with the third pick in the draft.
For Richardson, the team got a first-round draft pick next year, when the team will have two opening-round selections and 10 overall. After the first round Cleveland has one second round pick then two picks each in the third and fourth rounds.
Obviously this is a controversial move. Maybe the most debated move since Bill Belichick cut Bernie Kosar, or Art Model trading Paul Warfield for the number one pick in Miami, which turned out to be Mike Phipps.
What are your thoughts? Greg Mitchell and I will talk about the trade on tonite’s “Ultimate Sports Talk” show beginning at 7pm. We will debate the move and hear from the decision makers and media involved.
