Things are really beginning to heat up between Ronda and Miesha. I knew going into this season how much these two women didn’t like each other, and that is really starting to show. This week saw both teams going to watch a UFC fight at a bar and Ronda and Miesha’s boyfriend started to argue. Apparently last year Miesha’s boyfriend said something on twitter to a fan about how he could beat Ronda or punch her, so Ronda still hasn’t forgotten that. Ronda was by him and Miesha asked her to leave him alone, that’s when things escalated lol. Ronda’s fight coach came in and stirred the argument even more. This all just keeps adding fuel to the fire when Rousey and Tate fight each other in November.
This week’s fight was Team Tate’s Chris Holdsworth (4-0) vs. Team Rousey’s Chris Beal (7-0). This was also the first male fight of the season. Beal was chosen for this fight because Team Tate knew he had some hand injuries and wanted to take advantage of that. Both men kept this fight interesting, they were throwing punches, had a little ground game and then ended with a submission. Holdsworth made Beal tap with just seconds to go in the first round from a guillotine. There were a few punches before the guillotine that Holdsworth connected on and I thought for sure this fight was going to end in a KO. Will this fight go down as the best of the season? I hope not, but for the first male fight it was decent.
With 1 male and 1 female fight down and Team Team up 2-0, I’m hoping Team Rousey steps up their game and gives us some highlights in the next few fights. Like Dana says, leave it all in the cage! The next episode will focus on female fighters: Team Tate’s Roxanne Modafferi (15-10) vs. Team Rousey’s Jessica Rakoczy (1-3). Rousey wants her team to step it up and is hoping Rakoczy is the person to get them back on track.
