Chris Jobes February 21, 2014 Comments Off on UFC 170 PREDICTIONS

This weekend is UFC 170, the event is highlighted by Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann. Rousey last fought in December by retaining her championship against Miesha Tate. It is strange to see MMA fighters, especially champions, fight 2 months after their last fight. However I have all the faith in the world in Ronda Rousey. I’m not too familiar with a lot of the fighters on the card, which is Welterweight heavy. My predictions will be focused only on the main fight card which will air on PPV.

Women’s Bantamweight Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Sara McMann
If you have followed any of my other UFC predictions you know I am a Ronda Rousey fan. However, this could be an interesting fight. Ronda is 8-0, Sara is 7-0. Someone is leaving this fight with their first defeat. Ronda has won all her fights with submission, Sara is a little more diverse. When Ronda goes into a fight she is very focused, I don’t know about Sara. No matter what I have to support Ronda for the win!

Light Heavyweight Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins
We have the 13-0 Cormier vs. the 4-0 Cummins. I have no clue who either of them are lol. Cormier has the experience so I am going with him for the win.

Welterweight Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia
MacDonald 15-2-0 and Maia 18-5-0 are both coming off of a loss this past fall. Both men will have something to prove. My pick is to go with MacDonald.

Welterweight Mike Pyle vs. TJ Waldburger
Another fight where both men are coming off a loss. Pyle is 25-9-1 and Wadburger is 16-8-0. Both men favor a submission win as well. I feel like Waldburger “The Dark Horse” will shine in this match.

Welterweight Robert Whittaker vs. Stephen Thompson
Whittaker is 12-3-0 and the “Wonderboy” Thompson is 8-1-0. If you do a search on their stats this is a pretty even match up. The only thing that seperates them is that Whittaker has won with more submissions than Thompson. I’ll go with Whittaker for the win.
