Patrick Sharp Out (3-4 weeks)

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Sharp is out three to four weeks with a lower-body injury.  Sharp suffered the injury when he was hit into the boards by a Montreal player.  The team knows what Sharp brings to the team and knows that everybody needs to step up.  The Hawks recalled center Peter Regin, who is leading the Rockford Ice Hogs in nearly all offensive categories, and not prized prospect Teuvo Teravainen.

Zach Parise Out Indefinitely With a Concussion

Parise did not travel with the team for their three-game road trip, and Coach Mike Yeo call this “obviously a big blow”.  The team also traveled without Matt Cooke (lower body) and Jarred Spurgeon (upper body).

Brooks Laich Returns For The Caps

Brooks Laich, and his veteran presence, returns to the ice tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks. Laich was out since October 18 with a left shoulder injury.  The move could cause the Capitals to sit Evgeny Kuznetsov, who is having a difficult time adjusting to the NHL game after coming over from Russia and the KHL.

New York Rangers
