Monday January 5th — In what was expected to be an outstanding co-main event between two of the UFC’s top lightweights Eddie Alvarez and former champion Benson Henderson, the injury bug has decided to claim another victim.

Henderson-vs-Cerrone-Fight-VideoUFC president Dana White officially announced that Alvarez is injured and is replaced by Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone who literally just fought less than 48 hours ago. Cerrone is coming off of a dominant decision victory over Myles Jury at UFC 182 which took place last Saturday night. While being interviewed during the UFC’s post fight press conference, Cerrone expressed his disappointment with his performance and claimed he wanted to get right back in the gym. He then stated that he would not leave Las Vegas until he had his next fight booked, looks like Cowboy got his wish.

Cerrone will be facing Henderson for the third time of their careers, in both occasions Henderson took home the victory.
