Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger preferred to prepare for the upcoming Premier League season by touring Asia. But with new leadership at the club, that look to be changing and that is good news for Gunners fans in North America.
Arsenal are expected to participate in the International Champions Cup this summer as part of a lucrative pre-season tour of the United States next summer.
According to reports in the UK, Arsenal are looking a potential five-game USA stay; with stops on the west and east coast. Games in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York are among the possibly destinations currently being discussed.
With no summer international tournament in Europe this summer, there is Copa America and the Africa Cup of Nations though, Arsenal and Liverpool should be able to bring many of their stars on this preseason tour.
Liverpool are expected to once again set up pre-season camp at Harvard University and will return to Fenway Park for a preseason match.
The Liverpool club, which is controlled by John Henry and Fenway Sports Group, has played six times in Massachusetts since 1946 and twice at Fenway Park. Liverpool lost to AS Roma by scores of 1-0 in 2014 and 2-1 in 2012 at Fenway.
