The Baltimore Orioles took two of three from the Kansas City Royals much to the delight of the home crowd at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

After splitting the first two games of the series the Birds won the finale 8-1.

Baltimore was led by the long ball as they smacked four homers.

The Orioles’s Jonathan Villar started the scoring as his two-run home run in the second inning gave his team a 2-0 lead.

Anthony Santander and Renato Nunez each homered in the fifth giving the Birds a 5-1 advantage.

Hanser Alberto put the game out of reach with his three-run blast in the sixth inning increasing the Baltimore lead to 8-1.

Alberto finished the game one for four with three RBI and Villar ended the game two for three with two RBI.

Oriole’s starter Aaron Brooks allowed seven hits, struck out four while walking one and surrendering one run in five innings of work.

The bullpen shutout Kansas City while striking out five Royals.

Both teams are cellar dwellers. the Royals finished the series ( 45-82) while Baltimore improved to (41-86).
