The Baltimore Orioles took two of three from the visiting Seattle Mariners much to the delight of the home crowd at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
With the series tied 1-1, the Birds got a great effort from starter Kyle Bradish and a two-run homer from outfielder Anthony Santander in route to a series clinching 3-2 win.
Bradish went seven innings surrendering two hits while walking two and striking out seven. After giving up a second inning two-run home run he settled down and tossed five shutout innings and improved to (4-3).
Reliever Danny Coulombe breezed through the eighth and closer Felix Bautista struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his 21st save.
Santander’s homer to right tied the score at 2-2 in the third inning. He leads the team with 14 homeruns and is also the top Oriole with 47 RBI.
Santander also shined with his glove in the first inning, taking a run off the board for Seattle, leaping high over the right field fence to snag the ball much to the delight of Bradish.
Back up catcher Anthony Bemboom has an RBI single in the fifth inning to bring in the winning run.
After losing the opener 13-1 the Birds bounced back in a big way.
In the second game, a dramatic 6-4 victory, Baltimore got a series tying walk off 10th-inning two-run homer from outfielder Ryan Mckenna.
After winning the series the Birds improved to (47-29) good for second in the ultra-competitive AL East while Seattle, a playoff team last year, sunk to (37-39) in the AL West standings.
