The Baltimore Orioles took two of three from the Seattle Mariners winning their final home series of this challenging 2019 season much to the delight of the home crowd at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

After splitting the first two games of the series the Birds won the finale, 2-1.

The offensive hero of the game was season-long-struggling Chris Davis.

He never got his batting average over .200 but his solo homer in the seventh inning proved to be the difference in the game.

Meanwhile, Oriole’s starter John Means was on his game.

He allowed seven hits, struck out four while walking one and surrendering one run in seven innings of work.

He has been Baltimore’s most consistent pitcher during this rebuilding season.

He evened his record to (11-11) and has a 3.54 ERA.

Richard Bleier came out of the bullpen to earn his fourth save of the season.

The Birds trailed 1-0 in the first inning but Renato Nunez slugged a double which brought in Austin Hays and tied the score in the bottom half of the frame.

That would be all of the scoring in this pitcher’s duel until Davis got a much needed hit, homer and RBI.

Baltimore, the cellar dwellers of the AL East improved to ( 51- 105) and the Mariners fell to (66-90).
